AOE 2: Attila the Hun: The Great Ride

Image
The main objective of this Mission is to defeat Rome. But, at the start we wont be having any base, to build our millitary upon. So, we have to raid small empires in the map to get resources to establish a base. Since, this is a raid, there is no need to tear down all the structures. Getting resources from the small Empires is very easy and goes as follows. First one is Sofia. On destroying the town center, it gives some food. Next is Dyrrhachium who gives some troops. But, there is a catch. The troops are stationed near a Castle. So, you have to be quick enough to break the walls and get the troops out from there. I lost some of my horses, while breaking down the walls. Next comes Thessalonica, who gives Villagers on destroying all the houses. But, I cant built my base, even after getting the villagers as the wood was 0. So, I continues my raid. Then comes Adrianople with few monks and watch towers. Only the monks have to be killed and there is no need to go near the watch towers. Des...

AOE 2: Attila the Hun: The Scourge of God

Image
Yesterday, I started Attila the Hun Campaign on hard difficulty level and completed the The Scourge of God mission. On game start Bleda, the king of Huns challenges Attila for a contest. Some speeches goes on for a minute between Attila and Bleda. Then, Bleda betrays Attila, changes the diplomacy to Enemy. But Attila will be having some loyal followers. With their help, kill Bleda and all the remaining units and empire of Bleda becomes Attilas'. Make all your units to attack Bleda, so that the remaining unit of Bleda gets converted into Attilas' after Bleda is killed. Then, I started building my Empire. My gameplay style is build a strong empire with defensive forts, then create a large army and raid other civilizations. In this game also, I started gathering resources at light speed with nearly 50 villagers and establised a defensive territory. Then, I created a big army of Skirmishers and Cavalry. Also, I created a dozen of Battering Rams to tear down the structures ...

Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors Expansion

Image
Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings and Age of Empires 2: Conquerors are finest Real Time Strategy Games I have played. The game focuses on building towns, gathering resources, creating armies, and destroying enemy units and buildings. Players conquer rival towns and empires as they advance their own civilization through four "Ages": the Dark Age, the Feudal Age, the Castle Age (The Middle Age), and the Imperial Age, reminiscent of the Renaissance—a 1000 year timeframe. Progressing to a new Age unlocks new units, structures and technologies, but players must pay a sum of resources and construct certain buildings before advancing. Players choose to play as one of 13 civilizations split into four architectural styles, West European, Central European, Middle Eastern, and Far Eastern, that determine building appearance in-game. The civilizations have varying strengths and weaknesses with regards to economics, technology, and battle, and each has access to a different, very powerful ...

Sins of a Solar Empire: Won!!!

I won the Huge Random Map, that I was playing for about two weeks. In the End, I colonized 80% of planets in 2 star systems, wiped out all other players, except my Ally. But, hereafter, I surely wont play this Huge Random Map. It become very boring in its second half. But, I have to try out the other two Civilizations. So will be playing some medium sized map soon. And for those, who like to visit my Virtual Chennai and to check out the advanced techs like Novalith Canon, I give a link here to my saved file. Feel free to check it out

Sins of a Solar Empire: Almost Finished

This Huge Random Map is a big success for me. Colonized two star systems and eliminated 6 players and only two players to eliminate, since the third one is my ally. Since, I colonized all the planets in two star systems, there is no problem of resources for me. Approximately, I get 80 Credits/sec, and 20 asteroid and 20 crytals per second. But now the game seems boring. Because, there is no need to manage your precious resources(because they are no more scarce), no need to plan your researchers(already reasearched them all), and the only thing to do is move from star to star which takes about 10 - 15 minutes and take our your enemies' planets. I think you get the maximum fun from Sins of a Solar Empire only if you play small or medium maps. Because, huge maps will really be boring when you have only two or three enemies left. More Later, Till then Bye.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Chennai Completed

Image
Finally, I made it... Yes, I colonized all the planets in the first Star System and thus fully created the Virtual Chennai. Only two planets are missed, because they are colonized by my Ally and now I cant declare war on him just to capture those two planets. Because, he is wayyyyy toooo powerful than me. Here is a Screenshot of the Virtual Chennai in Sins of a Solar Empire. Now is the time to explore new lands, sorry actually new stars and planets... I think from now on, the game will be somewhat easier than before, because my Economy is now stable and I am now having good gathering rate of all the resources. Also since all the researches are complete, I need the resources only to replace the dead ships. Hope will complete this Huge Random Map, before my exam gets over, which is on June 3rd... Below is an awesome screenshot of a planet being fired by my Novalith Canon:

Sins of a Solar Empire: Going well

In the middle of my Exam preparations(yes, i am having my exam in a week), I made myself some time to play Sins of a Solar Empire. I am playing a Huge Random Map for about a week(but only 1 hour a day), and this time I rule the game. Ya, now 14 planets are under my control, with all the Military and Civil researches completed. Also, i built two Novalith Canons, which is the super weapon of TEC. With a single Novalith Canon, any planet can be taken down in just two shots. Its an amazing deadly weapon. Still, i didnt venture beyond my Star System. My plan is to capture all the planets in this Star System and then move on to the next system. Sorry, i dont have any time to take screenshots and upload... But will surely add some amazing screenshots in the next post of Sins of a Solar Empire. This is a fantastic space RTS game, I love this as my all time favourite space RTS, "HOMEWORLD"

Sins of a Solar Empire: Repeated defeats

Image
I played the Huge Random Map. In the beginning the game goes smoothly. But after capturing some 5 to 6 planets, i lose control of the game. As I move my fleet to capture a new planet, that stupid AI players start attacking my planets and take it over and/or i forgot(or didnt notice) to take care of the pirate. So, that stupid mercenary comes and destroys my planet. This happened to me two times. But i learnt some valuable lessons from my defeats and today, I started a new game again and this time i ll surely WIN. Some wonderful screenshots below. I am not playing the game with full graphic settings, but with the medium settings itself, the game looks awesome More Screenshots at http://s589.photobucket.com/albums/ss340/slagio2002/Sins%20Of%20A%20Solar%20Empire/ As you can see from the Screenshots, i am trying to create a Virtual Chennai inside the game. But damn, those fking AI players are not letting me. But, you dont worry, this time i ll surely DO it...

Sins of a Solar Empire

The Ultimate Space RTS game, that every RTS lovers should play, "Sins of a Solar Empire". This game offers awesome graphics and fanstastic gameplay experience with the variety of strategies it offers. The technology tree is very big, there are so many innovative researches available with brilliant easy to use interface. The graphics is wonderful. The space background with all the nebulas looks amazing. The planets, the sun and above all the ships and the stations simply rocks. This game is somewhat hard because all the time i lacked in getting some resources. Sometimes, its metal and sometimes its crystal, i had no problems with getting the credits. But, i think, this makes the game even more strategical where you have to choose between what research to do, or what platforms to built, or what ships to create with the very limited resources you have. Also Sins of a Solar Empire offers RPG features with the Capital ships having the ability to gain experience, level up, learn po...

Conquest: Frontier Wars really disappointed me

After completing the Terran Campaign, i was very eager to start the Mantis Campaign. First I completed the Mantis Training mission and i m very very disappointed to found that, everything is over. Ya, for mantis and celareon, only training missions are there in the game and not anything more. I dont know, why they put this training missions... just to disappoint some gamers like me... So, i just finished one very tiny little game. Now, i am trying to get Sins of a Solar Empire. I think its also a space strategy game with advanced graphics and all... Hope will get it soon. Till then, i ll continue with Last Chaos

Conquest: Frontier Wars

Conquest: Frontier Wars is a very old real time strategy game(RTS) with some decent graphics. A very good strategy game, that takes place in space in about 200 years in the future, when humans discovered wormholes and got the power to travel across galaxies in seconds. There are 3 races in Conquest: Frontier Wars: Terrans(Humans), Mantis and Calareons. In the start, this game looks really very cool, but after completing some 4 or 5 missions, it somewhat start to bore. My rating for this game is 3 out of 5.
